While most people believe that the pursuit of success is a modern day obsession, nothing could be further from the truth, down through the ages, ambitious men and women have pursued lofty goals and aspirations with the hope of achieving financial and physical comforts.
Even the Bible has spelled out detailed advice for those who wish to pursue their dreams and goals. It is these success principles that I would like to focus on for this article.
Without a doubt the most significant verse in the Bible pertaining to achieving success is found in the Gospel of Mark. In Mark 9:23 of the KJV its states, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
If you develop the kind of belief or faith that the Bible describes as Jesus taught, nothing would be impossible for you. NOTHING!!! How unbelievable and inspiring is that. A similar passage is related in Matthew 17:20, when Jesus said, “If ye have faith (belief) as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say to this mountain (obstacle), remove hence to yonder place and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
Belief is the cornerstone to success, doubt and fear are the cripplers of achievement. This was written about in James 1:5-6. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
Focused work in your chosen field is also an essential ingredient for success. In Proverbs 22:29 we read, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
Laziness or half-hearted effort will lead to disaster. In
Proverbs 6:9-11 it spells this out very clearly. “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of
thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands
to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an
armed man.”
Finally, we have a success principle in Hebrews that wasn’t understood until now, thanks to the advancement of Quantum Mechanics and the field of Neuroscience.
In Hebrews 11:3 we have the very profound statement, “Through faith we understand that the
worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made
of things which do appear.” It’s the last part of the verse you need to focus
on.
Things, which are seen, were made by things that we cannot see, the invisible quantum world. Through our visualization and persistent thought we create the fabric of our lives. Coupled with faith and laser-like focus, you have an unstoppable combination for success in any endeavor.
Now whether you believe in the Bible or not is your own personal decision, but even if you don’t, apply these principles and use their teachings for your own pursuit of a successful life.
